The Mystery of the Rose

  • Rose des Art Fontaine la Vaucluse Provence France (map)

Welcome to the Fascinating World of the Roses.

My dear friend, artist and perfumer Roseline Giorgis is the owner of the Rose Des Arts garden in Provence, and together, we are inviting you, a small group of women, to join us for a magical, one-of-a-kind experience during the harvest of the rose last week of May, 2017.

Imagine walking barefooted on soft rose petals, bathing in roses, savor chocolate covered rosebuds and sipping champagne infused with rose petals?

Let the mystery of the rose open the doorway to your feminine mystery.

Our time together will be creative, rejuvenating and delicious. Roseline will introduce us to the mystery of the rose, the distillation process and the way of a perfumer. We will play in her garden, pick roses and herbs, while learning about the many uses of the rose and enjoy amazing provencal organic meals at the farm.

Alongside, we engage in creative explorations (free writing, drawing, dancing, painting and photographing) to explore and express the rose wisdom in our own body and being. You don’t need to be an artist, this is purely for the enjoyment of creative self-expression. You will leave inspired and infused with beauty, and new visions of your sensual, blossoming self.

Note: this is a private, one-of-a-kind experience, it won't be a repeat retreat, therefore, it's truly a gift and joy to be able to share this experience and Roseline’s magical place with you.

Come, let your heart and soul be nourished.

Program

You arrive at Rose’s House in Fontaine la Vaucluse on May 23, before 4 pm. We will settle in and enjoy a light meal together in the evening. Roseline will welcome us and invoke the mystery of the rose. Her father was a perfumer in Grasse, and before his death, he created the Baptistine rose for Roseline, as close to the original Mary Magdalene rose he could come, and now she is carrying the tradition into the future.

The Rose Garden is situated 6 km from the house. Each day they harvest roses in the garden early am and at 17 pm when the fragrance is most potent. We will partake on some days.

Our daily program will weave the hands on session with Roseline at the garden with creative explorations, inspiration for body, mind and spirit and photo sessions. We have breakfast at the house, late lunch at the farm, and make our own light dinners at the house or go out.

A guiding schedule:

Day 1: Morning walk in the garden, collecting wild plants and flowers and roses for the first lunch together at the farm. Roseline introduces us to the distillation process and production of rose oils and water. Evening we gather in circle for inspiration, sharing and free writing.

Day 2: Early morning walk to the Fontaine La Vaucluse spring (bring your tools for free writing, drawing, photographing). After lunch at the farm, we partake in the production of perfumes and herbs. We harvest roses together in late afternoon. Evening free time.

Day 3:  Morning circle, explore the rose wisdom for women. After lunch, learn the gastronomy of roses with receipts from marmelade to vinegar. Evening circle: belly dance.

Day 4: Morning circle, free writing and self-visions. After lunch, painting with Roseline with precious organic Rose Des Arts colors made of pure mineral pigments and essential oils. We create personally scented colors with Roseline guidance. Casual evening circle.

Day 5: Harvest roses and collecting some for our rose baths and beds. Lunch at the farm. Photos play with roses at the house. Evening with Roseline at home laboratory to learn about roses cosmetics and perfumes.

Day 6: Picking roses, walking on a carpet of rose petals, and photo captures. After lunch, we go on a tour of the area together, and skinny dip in the river. Evening casual circle.

Day 7: Morning circle. Last lunch at farm with Roseline. Letting the rest of the day unfold as we wish and final Champagne celebration in the evening at the House.
