The Embody Collection

This collection of works captures the essence of unique approach to photography and my longterm work with hundreds of women from 15 to 95 years of age. The full collection is gathered in the book Embody: Intimate Photographic Encounters with Women alongside an in-depth essay and various poetic reflections from behind-the-shots.

Embody lets you be voyeur to women's private thoughts and motives as they seek the freedom to see and to be seen. In her quest for a woman's complicated truth, Morch captures the interplay between the seer and the seen and the light and shadow in the women’s bodies, minds and psyches in a time and world where the female body is still sold, shamed and legislated over. Through her photographic process, Lone lets a woman reconnect to her body, restore her dignity and retain a bit of her feminine mystery. Most photography of women has been dominated by the male gaze, but in this book women look at themselves. Phil Cousineau calls the book "... a healing vision for a wounded world."
