About my talks
In my talks, I draw on anecdotes and reflections from my books, personal and professional experiences in different cultures and careers and try to bridge the personal and universal, self and society. I speak about my authorship and photo projects, and take you behind-the-scenes on my creative process. The road to inner freedom and autonomy is central in my life and work. My talks are intimate, inspiring, rich in story, wanderlust and liberation. I speak to both your heart, mind, body and soul, and get up close and under the skin of what's vital and important for us as humans at this fragmented, disconnected time.

Artist Talk: The Intimate Gaze
Based upon my new book Embody and the past fourteen years of photographing a thousand women of all ages and stages of life, I speak about the therapeutic potential of photography and the power of our gaze to limit or liberate. I invite you behind-the-scenes of my photographic work and creative process and how this has influenced me as an artist and woman. I examine the light and shadow in the female psyche, mind and body, and talk about the motives and images that emerge when women are free to explore and express their bodies, eroticism, and value - on their own terms.
Themes: the camera as catalyst for change, your gaze, my gaze, the culture's gaze, the art of seeing, blindness, difference between seducing and witnessing, the battle about and inside the female body, embodiment and the path to inner freedom, the power-free and non-judgemental meeting as foundation for new discoveries and healing. The creative process and ins and outs of making and publishing.
The talk can be 60 min or 2 x 45 min.
The talk is relevant for women, men, photographers, creatives, professional, all ages, above 15.
My talk can be tailored to your group, book club, organization, panel and conference and salon.
